89Sabers Ventress Neopixel Saber

89 Sabers are awesome and this example of Ventress’s saber is such a cool design and very well made. Very happy with my purchase. Also CCsabers are very good at responding my to questions. Will be ordering again soon. Maul is next to the collection 😃

Absolutely beautiful design. Two tone metal all around with holes to see two crystal chambers. The only two problems are that the SD card and USB ports are in almost unusable places, and there’s a single tiny LED in the hilt that is programmable as a second blade (?), but the crystals cannot (without extreme difficulty). Doesn’t make sense to me.

Just received the "ventress saber" from CC Sabers... excellent quality as well as performance with the proffie board! Great sound fonts and blade effects, loud immersive sound, highly recommend the saber and the CC Sabers team!

I received the saber exactly when I was supposed to and it’s amazing! I also reached out with a few questions and Carl responded within 24 hours and was extremely helpful. I will definitely buy from them again! The stand is beautiful, the saber is excellent! This is my first 7/8” blade and it’s a big difference from the 1” heavy blade. This is definitely more of a medium blade due to flexibility, however it’s not to the degree that it feels overly delicate. It does only have one blade screw vs the multiple screws available on my other 1” Xenopixel blade. It should be noted that the SD card can only be accessed by removing the chassis connector/hilt and sliding it out through a slot at the end. The USB port also cannot be accessed without heating up the board/chassis's glue a bit with a hair dryer and tilting the board up slightly if you plan to update the Proffie board or add new blade styles. This one also doesn’t include the Bluetooth module. I reached out to 89 Sabers to verify and they said I could send the electronics chassis to them to get it added for $20 or I could order a second electronics chassis from them for $120 and they would add the Bluetooth module to that one for me. Don’t let these things dissuade you from buying this though, it is an excellent and beautiful lightsaber and I would definitely buy it again.

This year I bought my first ever sabers, one baselit saber from another site and this 89 Ventress saber.

First the positives:
Craftsmanship:
This saber is incredibly well crafted. The attention to detail, the craftsmanship and the materials used are all of incredibly high quality. The crystal in the handle and hilt are such an incredible detail and were a big selling point on this saber for me.

Sound:
The sound quality of the speaker is also incredible. The detaled sounds to even the most subtle movements feels so authentic.

Service:
My blade originally arrived with a gash in it and the stand was missing some components. I notified cc sabers and they immediately sent me replacements, that level of service is exemplary and will keep me comming back in the future.

The negatives:
Blade styles:
While some of the pre-installed effects on the blade are very cool far too many of them (4-5) are almost pure or tinted white. I am a bit disappointed with the variety of balde effects and the lack of installed ease to customize them. I know this is a proffie board and is supposed to be endlessly customizeable but I am still very much an amateur when it comes to sabers and it will take me some time to learn as opposed to the ease of customizability of some pre installed boards especially those that can connect with an app. There is also not a pre installed Ventress sound font or blade style despite this being a Ventress saber.

The blade:
The other saber I got was a baselit saber for dueling. Compared to the baselit saber the Ventress saber effects are obviously more complex. The colors however I am a bit disappointed with. The vibarance and saturation of the colors is lacking when compared to the baselit which is something I was not expecting. This is especially noticeable in colors like purple.

The components:
While the saber itself is incredibly well made the included screws to secure the blade and allen wrench are a bit sub par. I have hadly used them and already the wrench will either continually get stuck in the screw or be unable to turn it as though the head was stripped.

Final thoughts:
This saber is incredibly well crafted however the limited blade effects color vibrance and lack of a ventress soundfont and style make it hard to recommend unless you are an avid collector or simply want it as a beautiful display piece or if you have a level of familiarity with customizing proffie boards. Definitely not recommended as a beginer saber but I am still happy with my purchase. That visible crystal really goes a long way and I am a sucker for good aesthetics. If you catch a good sale I would recommend it.

The ventress is a very beautiful saber ,liking the two tone metal gives it depth. The speaker is very load not muted by leds on the end,but disappointed with the order.I bought during a sale I didn't receive my free saber for purchase over $300 or a stand case is very nice.tho.sent many emails..no response. I will not buy

A very sleek and good looking hilt with a visible kyber crystal. Only drawback is the chassis, which is very tight for the battery and to get to the SD card, I had to push the proffie board a bit up and thank god, nothing broke. Sadly 89 Sabers did not provide a saber stand, but this is not CCSabers fault. I am happy with this hilt :)

This saber is fantastic, I love its design with its mesh/honeycomb style parts, its two crystals!
Saber relatively light, easy to handle and delivered quickly with all the accessories and functions!
I am totally won over by it!

I like the hilt a LOT. I'm not thrilled about the crystal-chamber-in-the-pommel concept - 4 stars. The electronics were installed well, but the chassis design and layout of the wiring fall short - 3 stars. The hilt chassis blocks the view of the crystal chamber and the wires running through the hilt chassis are visible. I disassembled the hilt and concealed the wires, but couldn't reposition the chassis so that it didn't obscure the crystal chamber. I also rewired the hilt chassis and the core to provide individual control of the crystal chamber and pommel LEDs. They now both have their own data pads and the crystal chamber is now programmed to pulse when the blade is off. This flexibility could have been enabled by a different approach to the wiring in the original install without creating additional effort.

First lightsaber ever purchased, so the review will reflect this.

Visual impressions:
The pictures do not do this lightsaber justice. It is a beautiful lightsaber (if a piece of metal tube can be described as such). The hilt is light with a nice glossy shine making it a fantastic decoration on any shelf or table with its supplied stand and name plaque. The red inner casing by the emitter is a beautiful contrast to the chrome.
When the lightsaber is turned on, it goes from being a thing of beauty to a piece of art. The 2 crystals top and bottom add an extra dimension to an already incredible hilt.

Usage impressions:
The blade is light and when connected to the hilt does not feel top heavy. The center of gravity feels well balanced where the blade meets the hilt. Also the hilt is narrow and I with small hands had a good grip around the hilt. For me, the weight, balance and hilt diameter made it feel good for spinning and twirling.

Software impressions:
The lightsaber came with 13 soundfonts where one was a dublicate, so in actual 12 soundfonts. Being labeled as the Ventress I would also have expected an actual Ventress soundfont, which there wasnt.
I am aware since it is a proffieboard, that sounds and blade styles can be downloaded and customized. This was just my subjective opinion. I have informed Carl about this and he in turn has informed 89Sabers.

CCSabers + delivery
Since it was the first time I ever purchased a lightsaber, and not much of an online customer, I had a lot of questions before and after the purchase. Carl the owner of CCSabers answered in a timely fashion (7 hours time difference), patiently, politely and competently. The lightsaber arrived via DHL a little over 1 week from purchase (living in Scandinavia), and I could follow the status of the delivery via the tracking number supplied by Carl.

Overall impression:
The lightsaber is just awesome in both looks and usage. Aside from the slight dissapointment from the software, the service provided by Carl and CCSabers more than anything compensates for the dissapointment, and I thereby give the rating of 5 stars and will surely purchase from Carl and CCSabers again.
