Its compact 283 mm hilt, replaceable pommel piece, immersive Neopixel blade, and professionally installed Proffieboard V3.9 make it especially well suited to collecting, display, cosplay, choreography, and flow arts.

The saber is professionally installed with the open-source Proffieboard V3.9. It provides responsive Smooth Swing audio, gesture controls, customizable sound fonts and blade styles, and interactive effects such as flash-on-clash, blaster deflect, lockup, drag, melt, and lightning block.

The premium metal hilt and included Neopixel blade are suitable for controlled light dueling. Because the blade contains LEDs and the hilt has detailed collector-grade exterior parts, heavy or full-contact dueling is not recommended.

Obi-Wan Episode I Electronics & Controls

The installed Proffie V3.9 configuration includes a curated selection of sound fonts with responsive Smooth Swing and motion-based controls. The exact font lineup and control assignments can vary slightly with the current CCSabers installation.

Proffie V3.9 supports bright Neopixel color profiles and effects such as steady or flickering blades, pulse and unstable styles, flash-on-clash, blaster deflect, lockup, drag, and melt. Advanced users can program additional styles through ProffieOS.

Yes. Proffieboard V3.9 can be connected to a computer to add sound fonts, change blade colors, and compile custom blade styles through ProffieOS. Back up the SD card and current configuration before making changes.

No. The installed Proffieboard V3.9 configuration does not use Bluetooth or a mobile app. Customization is performed through a computer and the saber’s SD card.

CCSabers provides a 1-year electronics warranty for this installed 89Sabers Obi-Wan Episode I saber. Accidental damage, reversed battery installation, forced disassembly, pulled wiring, and physical damage to the hilt or blade are not covered. Repair support remains available.

I Obi Won with this hilt

The lighter blades that CC Sabers sells make it feel like you’re holding a lightsaber. The hilt is sooo much better than the TXQ version I own, thinner with way more detail. It vibrates so nicely in the hand when I swing it. I own a lot of lightsabers and this one is easily one of my favourites. If you’re undecided on where to get one from, but it here.

Accurate design but not impressive

This is my first Proffie-equipped saber. I had high hopes for it, but it fell short from what I anticipated.

Design
The hilt is very accurate representation of Obi-Wan's saber from The Phantom Menace, which is one of my favorite saber designs. I have both the Master Replicas Elite and EFX Collectibles series saber hilts, and this one is pretty close in details and dimensions. Impressive!

It feels good in the hands, as well as comfortable. But it has some flaws: the activation and auxiliary buttons are loose and make little "jiggly" sounds when you touch them; they are not as solid as I thought they would be.

Performance
The activation switch does not always activate the saber either; I have to rely on the twist activation and deactivation system.

Lighting
This, of course, all depends on the blade itself. The stock blade is adequate, but still lacking in brightness to others I have. Once I swapped it out, it wasn't an issue anymore.

Sound/Speaker
This is where the saber really disappoints. The speaker is too soft, low in volume (even after adjusting the volume setting). Perhaps this is due to the speaker muffled from the pommel design (no holes?). The Proffie board also does not impress as stock. I realize these are customizable, but I am not here to discuss that.

My impression is also, perhaps, unfair because I have a number of Vader's Vault sabers that use the CFX sound board, coupled with their ridiculously loud speakers (which I absolutely LOVE!), make it difficult to keep an unbiased view.

Overall
Despite all the negativity, let me be clear: it is a very nice saber and fun to wield. For the price, you get a lot with the hard case and other accessories and, not to mention, the excellently designed hilt. Would I buy it again? I can't say for sure, but probably.

Masterpiece

I grew up with the plastic version of this saber attached to my hip at all times. When I saw 89 Sabers had produced such a stunning replica, I had to have it. The saber is most excellent! The only thing to complain about is that the screw that goes through the Covertec wheel is too small with the wheel. But I was going to remove that anyways. Fantastic saber!
