The Vader EP5, also known as the DV5, combines 89Sabers’ collector-grade metal construction with the commanding black-and-silver profile associated with Darth Vader’s Episode V saber. Screen-inspired proportions, detailed control-box styling, a 285 mm hilt, Neopixel illumination, and Proffieboard V3.9 electronics make it ideal for collectors, display, cosplay, and immersive saber use.
The Vader EP5 is professionally installed with the open-source Proffieboard V3.9. It delivers responsive Smooth Swing, customizable sound fonts and blade styles, plus realistic effects including flash-on-clash, blaster deflect, lockup, drag, melt, and lightning block.
The metal hilt and supplied Neopixel blade can handle controlled light dueling. Because the blade contains LEDs and the hilt includes collector-grade exterior details and a control box, we do not recommend heavy or full-contact dueling.
Vader EP5 Electronics & Controls
The installed configuration includes a Vader-appropriate character profile plus a broad universal sound pack with 20+ sound fonts on the SD card. Available fonts and ordering can vary slightly with the current installation.
Out of the box, Proffie V3.9 supports a vivid red Neopixel blade and effects such as steady or flickering blades, pulse, unstable effects, flash-on-clash, blaster deflect, lockup, drag, and melt. Advanced users can program additional colors and styles through ProffieOS.
Yes. Connect the Proffieboard V3.9 to a computer to add sound fonts, change blade colors, and compile custom blade styles through ProffieOS. Back up the SD card and configuration before making changes.
No. The installed Proffieboard V3.9 does not include Bluetooth or mobile-app control. Configuration is performed through a computer and the saber’s SD card.
The Vader EP5 uses the installed Proffie control configuration supplied by CCSabers. Button and gesture assignments can vary with the current setup. See the 89Sabers support guide.

CCSabers provides a 1-year electronics warranty for this installed 89Sabers Vader EP5. Accidental damage, reversed battery installation, forced disassembly, pulled wiring, and physical damage to the hilt or blade are not covered. Repair support remains available.
