Star Wars Lightsaber Colors Decoded

Lightsabers are cinematic icons, having appeared in every Star Wars movie since 1977's A New Hope, when Luke Skywalker first fired up the blue blade entrusted to him by Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. The blue color wasn't arbitrary. There's a story behind each lightsaber hues, from the red blades wielded by Darth Vader and the Imperial Inquisitors hunting Obi-Wan in his series to the black and white ones ignited in The Mandalorian.

In-universe, the color of a lightsaber's blade is determined by the kyber crystal used in its construction. The Gathering, an episode from the fifth season of animated series The Clone Wars, revealed that the quest to acquire these force-attuned crystals is a Jedi rite of passage -- the crystals presenting themselves to worthy owners.

A very cool Saber, which I have configured as a Maul saber :)

A very sleek and good looking hilt with a visible kyber crystal. Only drawback is the chassis, which is very tight for the battery and to get to the SD card, I had to push the proffie board a bit up and thank god, nothing broke. Sadly 89 Sabers did not provide a saber stand, but this is not CCSabers fault. I am happy with this hilt :)

The saber is most excellent! The only thing to complain about is that the screw that goes through the Covertec wheel is too small with the wheel. But I was going to remove that anyways. Fantastic saber!

Beautiful Lightsaber

Fantastic lightsaber and blade! Super bright and amazing sound. Configuring the Proffieboard took a little bit of getting used to, but after a few hours I've got the blade I've always dreamed of! Hard carrying case is rather flimsy, but everything shipped well and arrived quickly.

This is the best neopixel lightsaber ever! I absolute love it. For one, the Graflex handle is an absolutely perfect screen accurate replica, for two the sound fonts are easy to switch, it's a lightweight saber that is easy to carry on the belt and even easier to duel with. It's high quality, loud, bright and the poffie board is amazing with super sensitive sound movements and high quality sounds and effects. I'm definitely going to be ordering another! Highly recommend. Literally could not be happier!

89Sabers Dooku

Let me start off first with saying that this is the most incredible saber I've ever felt. I've had multiple LGT character replica hilts and this is my first 89sabers hilt, so the change is insane. Dooku's lightsaber has been a dream of mine for having since I was a small kid watching the Clone Wars. I tried to make his saber out of the plastic pieces at the old Disneyland as kid, which is obviously not accurate at all. This however, is very different. To help make things easier, I will break this down into a few categories so you can teel if the saber suits you. (By the way, since the proffie board can be tricky to program, feel free to email me at: [****] , as I'm majoring in computer engineering and can help you out;)

1. Quality- OUT OF THIS WORLD. The most comfortable lightsaber ever, as the rubber grips and curve of the saber make it feel like it is a part of your body. The weight is amazing and is light with a quality feel of heft. There is a counterweight at the bottom of the saber, as the pommel has the board and speaker inside of it, which can aid with swinging as the wight transfers into momentum very smoothly.

2. Saber Features- Since it is a Proffieboard, the customization is endless and this can be seen in the blade and speaker. The blade is a 7/8 inch blade that is very light, and I mean very. I've had multiple 7/8 inch blades from LGT hilts and this one is about half the weight, and even brighter. The natural curve of the hilt allows you to swing very comfortably and preserve stamina, just as Dooku designed it.

3. Accessories- As seen in some of the photos, the saber comes with an amazing suede carrying bag with the separatist insignia on it, signifying Dooku's allegiance. The included custom stand is also very unique and super high quality, as it is very hefty for a stand. There is also a very nice blade plug that looks amazing when the blade isn't in, for display. Lastly, aside from the hardware and manual, the case it comes in is a very high quality plastic and metal box with the companies logo on it.

Company- Amazing company. Really. The owner, Carl is very helpful and responded to my questions very fast (asked at about 9:30 AM and got an email back around 10:45-11:00). The response time and ability to work with me really stood out, and I'm very appreciative of that. The next time I want a saber, I will be back for all of these reasons.

All in all, if you are a huge fan of Dooku like I have been since I was a kid growing up with the Clone Wars, do not hesitate. The quality is out of this world and I can guarantee you will not regret it. Big thanks to Carl (the owner of ccsabers) for making a childhood dream come true!

89Sabers LEIA

This Lightsaber hilt is beautiful! I purchased this on a whim while on sale, and was surprised at how much I liked it. The 89Sabers LEIA is probably one of the most accurate on the market. The fins in the pommel have the edges rounded off so they don't cut into your hand when you swing a blade with it and the mother of pearl inlays feel solid. It is quite a bit thinner than the same one my friend purchased from another company and very comfortable in the hand. Also, after owning it for some time, it does not seem to be too bad of a fingerprint magnet.

It is a two button Proffie, with the activation button lighting up and the auxiliary button just barely visible on the opposite side. It comes with a good looking blade plug that showed off the cuts in the blade emitter nicely. Also, as usual the 89Sabers chassis has a kill switch, though I will be happy if they start including a USB port to charge the batteries while installed.

Great hilt for any Sith Lord!

I updated my Maul lightsaber from an old Xenopixel to this proffie and I couldn't be happier! This hilt itself is beautiful! The soundboard and speaker sound great! Plenty of fonts to choose from with the ability to add more! Not a bad price considering you get two hits in one, two soundboards for each hilt and two blades. Not to mention the display stand has come a long way and makes the hilt look great for display purposes! Highly recommended!
